What is pediatric hospice?

untitled design (22).png

When children show signs of decline, hospice is another way of adding support to the family.  Unlike adult hospice, pediatric hospice services allow families to pursue curative treatment at the same time as comfort care.  We desire to support the child and family through careful planning and child/family centered goals at end of life.  Our facility can be another option for families and children who desire more medical support at the end of life than home options offer.

Many times, the hospital setting can be a traumatic place for children and families who need extra support, so having a home-like setting where special memories have been made with excellent, trained nursing and medical staff present can be a wonderful option for families at this difficult time.  Our staff will be trained in bereavement support so we can assist the child and family in a honoring, gentle way.
